Can You Find It In Your Heart

Recently I have learned at church, there is a Christian group in the Philippines who are caring for a lot of little street kids.

What are street kids you ask? The are children of all ages who were abandoned by they parents so that they could have a better life. These poor little babies have to fend for themselves. They live on the streets, begging for money, searching garbage cans for food, fearing for their lives. Some are attacked, some sexually molested and others just die from various reasons.

These babies are overcome by their feelings of abandonment, loneliness, and hopelessness.

There are over 1.5 million street children in all its major cities.

This group in Iloilo has founded what they call the Sonshine Center. They help anywhere from 50 to several hundred children a week.

The group give physical, emotional, medical, educational, and spiritual support to these children.

So they are OK you say - No- there are thousands of these children. They try to do what they can. And recently they were granted a lease on an old hospital building (in which they will be able to operate and help even more. But the building is in need of major repair. They need help. Mostly funding.
