I have a Dream

"Let freedom ring. And when this happens, and when we allowfreedom ring—when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children—black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

From a speech given on August 28th, 1963 from the steps of the Licoln Memorial in Washington DC, during a March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

2008- It came True

Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed.

Obama turned down lucrative job offers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law firrm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.
