Precious little Shrimp has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

******

It was difficult to know whether this dog was a purebred Poodle or a purebred Maltese. He was surrendered by a breeder in Lancaster County on January 31, 2007. A child of Pennsylvania's notorious Puppy Mills, this little dog came to us with mange, ulcers in his eyes, malnourished, dehydrated, and with a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. In spite of all the cruelty he has faced in his life, this little fellow, whom we are calling "Shrimp," is loving and incredibly sweet. He is currently on six different kinds of medications but his spirits remain high. Please think about this dog, and all the other dogs imprisoned in our state's Commercial Breeding facilities, when you see that cute little puppy in the pet store window. More than nine out of ten puppies sold in pet stores come from Puppy Mills. Shrimp remained behind for years while his babies went to market.

In January 2007, Bill rescued a Maltese-poodle mix from a breeder. The emaciated puppy had little hair and was close to death. Bill couldn't leave him behind and adopted the little guy, naming him Shrimp.

Today, Shrimp is a happy and healthy member of Bill's pack—and even wears a red bow in his full mane of hair. "Boy, what a makeover!" Oprah says.

In Memory of Shrimp

Please support the new kennel regulations that Rescue Organizations across PA tried to get passed. Regulations that will increase cage size for dogs like Shrimp, require breeders to exercise their dogs for twenty minutes every day, and revoke the licenses of individuals convicted of Animal Cruelty.

And most important--Adopt your next dog from a rescue or shelter

Don't buy from a pet shop or mill!!

Dear Heavenely Father up above

Please welcome little Shrimp into your Heavenly home up above. Take him home to your fields of green where he will once more be young and healthy. Give him a special angel to be his guide as he was a very special boy here to many.

Let him find lots of love and friends to romp and play with and the freedom of knowing he will never have to be afraid again or have memories of those days when he was in the mills.

Please let him know he was loved so much here on earth for a few short years and will be missed dearly.

Be with his rescuer to know he is OK and will see him again one day.

Thank you Lord

This I pray in Your name

Amen
