This year we are holding two events:

1. June 5, 2005, Dog Walk/Protest, Starting point Intercourse County Park, Intercourse, Pa.  10-2 PM.  Route to be determined at a later time. We hope to walk past as many mills as possible.  We will be led by the LAST CHANCE FOR ANIMALS NEWS VAN AnimalNews.com --About the News Van   Additionally we will be holding many events at the park, before and after the walk.  The schedule will be posted as we get closer to the event. What we do promise you is a day of companionship, fun and the benefit of being able to get your survivors out for the public to meet.  This is the height of tourist season and we will be right in the heart of Lancaster.  For those survivors who are unable to walk for any distance we are looking into renting Amish "looking buggies" so they too can show their support for the mill dogs locked behind the barn doors.

2.  September 17, 2005, Second Annual Puppy Mill Awareness Day.  We will again be at Intercourse County Park, Intercourse, Pa.  Chris DeRose and Claudine Wilkins will be back to share this special event and to go over what has been accomplished in 2005.  We will also discuss  what we will be doing in the future.  We hope to have many of the movers and shakers who have been working hard on the puppy mill issues and we will announce them as they agree to attend.

SPECIAL NOTICE: For those of you to far away to make it to Pennsylvania for our Awareness Day.

We are inviting you to hold your own Awareness Day.  All we ask is that you hold your event on either September 17 or 18th.  That you use Puppy Mill Awareness Day in the name of the event and that you help to educate the public that they should be adopting instead of supporting the puppy mill industry.  Once you have scheduled your event, please contact us and we will list you on the website and when the press releases are sent out you will be included as an official site of a Puppy Mill Awareness Day.  Additionally if you have petfinder website, we will notify Petfinder of your event and they will send out a press release to your local papers. Please consider holding an Awareness Day this year and every year until there are no more mill dogs.

We have many ideas how to make these two events ones that you will never forget.  If you didn't join us last year please visit the site and look at the pictures from 2004. Every one of us who attended was touched and even flooding didn't detract from the sense of purpose we left with.

We promised we would be back and we are.  The mill dogs will not be forgotten.  Their suffering does not go unnoticed.  We are even considering a "Toy Drive" for the mill dogs.  Perhaps each person attending the dog walk can bring a new toy and we can stop by the mills and ask the "Millers" if we couldn't give their dogs some toys.  Wouldn't that be an interesting conversation?  Just a thought.

Please email us if you are interested in attending either the walk or Awareness Day or holding your own Awareness Day.

We thank you for all you do for the animals.
