Be careful of the following:

Raw eggs: While a good source of protein, raw egg whites do contain an enzyme that causes a defiency of the vitamin biotin which can lead to hair loss, dermatitis & poor growth.

Cod Liver or wheat germ oil: While a good source of vitamin D and E, too much vitamin D can cause skeleton disorders. And rancis oil other vitamins can be destroyed.

Minerals: Inadequate or improper ratios can lead to rickets and bone abnormalities.

Vitamin Supplements: Excessive supplements can be dangerous especially vitamin A as it can be toxic and cause eye disorders.

Milk: Since adult dogs have a low latase and it can cause dirrhea as they cannot digest it properly.

 

Essential Vitamins that dogs need: But in moderation.

Too much is not good

Vitamin A: Necessary to support their health. Prevents night blindness and other diseases.

Vitamin D: For the proper developement of bones and cartilage

Vitamin E: antioxidant that inhahits oxidative damage. Not enoough can lead to muscle weakness & stillborn puppies.

Vitamin B1: (Thiamin)Dificiency can cause anorexia.

VitaminB2: (Riboflavin)Essential for growth. Primary sources are dairy products and organ meats.

Pantothenic acid: Usually added to all dog foods.

Pyridoxine: (B6): Normally added to the dog food.

Folic Acid: Fish solubles & by products are high in this.
