I Didn't Need to Die

The following story is true.   It recently happened in the
Town of Bourbon, MO.  A loving family pet who was
pregnant with her puppies died from a simple stupid lie.

To some people is was just a dog. They didn't care. But to 
others it was their family pet who they dearly loved. They
will remember this day for the rest of their lives.

An animal is a creature made by God. It belongs to God.
Woe be to the person who is cruel to one of God's creatures 
or needlessly puts it to death just because its just an animal.

It was a normal day and the dog was chained outside to do
it's Morning task before being brought back inside. The 
neighbor children came in the yard and were told not to
go near the dog. It was pregnant and they didn't want them
handling her. They didn't listen. The dog being friendly,
jumped up on the little boy and scratched him in the face.
The little girl took him home and told her mother - the dog 
bite him.  She in turn called the police and then took her son 
to the hospital.  Animal Control came with a noose and pole
and of course the dog was scared and fought them. They took 
the dog and put her to sleep immediately. Meantime- the
mother found out her child (who didn't listen) was not bite
just accidentally scratched. But it was to late. They said that 
because the dog fought them they put her down. Naturally 
she fought them- they were strangers in Her yard and she 
was just protecting her unborn babies. 

This was a family pet who was raised with children. Now the 
children will not have their beloved pet. All because of a lie
and because they didn't take time to check it out- After all
IT WAS JUST A DOG!!


I went to the Bridge today. My puppies went with me.

I'm sorry - I didn't mean to hurt the little boy. I was
just being friendly.  I didn't mean to fight with those
strangers either but you see, I was scared! 
They came into my yard with a stick and rope and I was
protecting my unborn babies. It's called a mother's
instinct. I didn't know what they were going to do.

I miss my family and love them very much. I know they
are sad and will miss me too. But one day we will all
be together again here in Heaven. Until then,

I Love You.    

When you look up at the sky and see a star twinkle -
that's me looking down at you.

Treasured Friend

I lost a treasured friend today,
the little dog who used to lay
her gentle head upon my knee
and share her silent thoughts with me.

She'll come no longer to my call,
retrieve no more her favorite ball.
A voice far greater than my own
has called her to His golden throne.

And though my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
he let her spend down here with me,
and for her love and loyalty.

Shyanne was only 2 years old.
