"My Other Memories"

     Shane
This is Shane. He was Angel's puppy. Shane was a special puppie. He was part husky & part german shepherd. He was my dog. The one I always wanted. So when I had to move & couldn't keep him temporaily, I found what I thought was
a good foster home. The man came well recommended. I left him there & within 4 mo The man disappeared. I looked for 4 years and couldn't find him. He was 2 when I last saw him. Over the years I keep asking & looking. Last year I saw a picture of an dog for adoption. I checked it out & found he had died the week before of cancer. I was sure it was Shane. In the meantime I found out where the man was that had him & he had told me he had to move & gave him away. Then my heart broke. I found the man's daughter and she said he had starved him & he was buried somewhere. Of course the man denied it. So I will never be sure. But I will never forget him or forgive myself for what ever happened, even though I thought he was safe. But I know he is at the Rainbow Bridge and someday I will finally find him again.

Angel

This is Angel. Angel was a purebread left behind when her owners moved. We adopted her and she had 6 puppies that year. All found good homes except Shane who I kept for my own. Angel was about 6 years old when I left Texas. I wanted to bring her back with me, but my ex refused to let me have her. He claimed her as his own. She has since gone to the Rainbow Bridge where she can be with her Shane

Buffy

This is Buffy. He was one of Cuddles and Mischief's puppies. We had him until he was 2 years old. With so many, My friend ask me if she could have him. I finally said OK. She really loved him and he had a good home for awhile. Then one day for some reason he ran into the road and got hit by a car and of course the man didn't even stop or say he was sorry. He was loved for a few years and was a sweet companion and friend. And I am sure he is happy at the Bridge.

Smiley & David

Smiley and David were precious babies of elderly people in Texas who went on to their maker. The relatives said they were going to the shelter if they didn't find homes. I really wasn't ready for any more since I had lost my precious Bo Jo (pictured below) just 3 mo before But my son wanted Smiley. As I started to drive off, I looked back & there sat David so sad looking. NATURALLY- I backed up, opened the door & said "Come on". We had them forever. They were both really sweet dogs and well behaved. They were about 8 & 9. Years pasted and Smiley developed heart problems. He did pretty good for several years. But then at 21 years, he finally gave in and left us. As for David he got really bad. His eyes & hearing went & He had seizures. So at 22 I had to do what was best for him, & he went to be with Smiley.

Bo Jo was a stray I took in when I lived in Texas.
He was about 2 years old. He went everywhere
with me. I really loved this little dog. Even when
he got my son's parakeet & I got blamed, I still
loved him. He was really the family pet but my
baby. We all spoiled him rotten. Then about 5 years later, we found he had heart worms. The doctor put him through the routine to get rid of them. Six months later we had him re-tested & he still had them. Now I had to make a decision. To put him through the ordeal again or to put him to sleep. I cried and tried to pretend it wasn't happening. But I knew I had to make up my mind. And then it happened. He was in our yard one evening & near the driveway (but still on our property), when some vicious boys decided to run him down. I called him for supper & he didn't come. When I went out, I
found him. I cried for 3 months. It broke my heart.
I found out later those boys ran down 5 other dogs that nite also.
             Bo Jo

Freeway was my truckin dog from Okla. I got him at a pound. He was rhe sweetest puppie. and I loved him dearly but when I found myself stranded with 2 kids, a cat and a puppy in Texas for over two weeks in June, I was afraid the heat in the car would kill him so we had to take the kitty and him to the rescue center. It liked to broke my heart and it was my birthday. But I didn't know what was going to happen and no place to go. I felt it was the best thing to do for him. After I got someone to fix the car, I checked back later but he had been adopted. So- I never saw him again. He was 2 years old. A cock-a-poo and so adorable. I got him when he was 6 weeks old.
