Twinkles

Look what I found on Christmas Day!!!!

With a little grooming I will look great !!

I Went to the Humane Society on Christmas morn to give all the animals blessings and a treat.

I dreaded this as I didn't know if I could take it or not seeing all those faces. But something said I had to go - so off I went

First thing I saw was a cage on the floor with this little sweetheart in it. AND my heart just melted. I asked why is this little one out here. Because he had just become available for adoption & not in a cage yet. He was the first one I blessed. And I knew I was in trouble.

I went to every cage- cats dogs rabbits birds rats etc. Blessed them all & went back & treated them all the second time. They were all adorable. Some really friendly - a few rather shy but every one was perfect & no agression whatsoever. They seemed pretty happy but the volunteers were treating them & walking them. They had a good Christmas. Love their hearts.

All done- I could go.

Did I - NO- I had to check on this old little baby. I took him out & into a room & I have never gotten so many kisses in such a short time in all my life.

He is a real love bug. Just precious and so little. I knew right then I had to check. A family was in yesterday to see him but nothing for sure.

I talked to the vet and told her he has a slight cough & so she will check it out. We talked for a while & I said I want him. So tomorrow I will call & check on him & see if I can get an app in.

He has some heath issues but nothing serious - it wouldn't matter tho I still wanted him.

So tomorrow we will see what happens.

I just want to give him all the love & care he deserves for as long as God allows.

Will update this after I find out more - hopefully Twinkles will be coming to his forever home.

His name was Spongebob but I decided it should be something Christmas-ey & Twinkles seems to fit.

UDATE

Well Twinkles won't be coming here and you won't believe why!

I went over the next day and put an app in for him. Beings he was in a wire cage on the floor I was sure he was cold & I took him a little jacket to wear.

Put the app in & some lady came & wanted to see him & they said well she is filling an app out now & the lady said well if it falls through - call me.

I could not imagine why it would fall through. I am a rescuer & had good references. (Which they never checked!!!)

They informed me he did indeed have kennel cough. OK they started him on meds.

Now here's the kicker - they informed me that in order for me to be approved I had to bring all 8 of my rescues over to interact with him.

You don't tell a rescuer to bring all their dogs into a place with kennel cough. That is pure stupidity!!

I said no way will I subject my dogs to kennel cough.---- well they can meet outside.

They would still be with him & he had kennel cough. They gave me till Monday at 7PM. (2 days) No way was he going to be cured in two days.

I called my vet that night & talked to him. With Abbys lungs & Winnies heart he advised me NOT to take them over. I could be signing a death sentence for 2 of mine. It takes 7 days to 2 weeks for isolation & they were adopting this dog out now.

Monday I called them & ask for more time till he was well even tho it was a real pain for me to drag 8 dogs over there I would have done it. I ask for a home visit- NO they don't have the people to do it.

Strange- I am suppose to be (WAS- NOT ANY MORE!!) a volunteer & I volunteered to do home checks they have never ask me to do one.

They refused to give me more time & the next day they had called that lady to put in an app.

I called the end of the week & he was gone!

Wonder if they told her he has kennel cough?

My groomer (who I was telling this to) said " Well I got my one dog there & he had it & they never told me. When I called they said they knew it & it was now my problem. My other dog came down with it also & it cost me a bundle"

Wonder what else they adopt out??

I thought this place had changed since new managers took over- Apparently I was WRONG!!!!!!!!!

So I have no idea where Twinkles is or if he even got a good home & it breaks my heart.

But I do know this place is all about making money - just shove them out the door so we can take more.

May God Keep You in His Care Little One.

I will always have you in my heart!
