This little guy has a story to tell that is unbelievable.

I will start with the pictures above. He was found as a stray in NC hungry, tired & covered in mud.

Of course he was posted on the groups & people were pleading for his rescue. He was to be gassed. Now Franklin County Animal Control has one of the oldest chambers there is. And young puppies don't always die the first time around so they do it again. Horrible enough once but twice? I couldn't stand it.

I knew I couldn't just take him I am too far away first & second I have 2 of my own & two fosters. This baby was to get no vetting what so ever. I just could not take a chance with mine getting parvo or something worse.

I posted him & prayed for him & then couldn't get him out of my head. I called the shelter twice to beg for his life. They did give him a 10 day extension due to the people who may be interested.

But time was running out fast. No one could pull & vet him. I couldn't transport him to this state without a health certificate. I couldn't sleep - I shed tears. I begged - someone help me.

Then some special angels emailed from NJ and said lets set up a fund. Will you get him if we do? YES YES YES

So the day he was to be gassed a special person in NC pulled him for me & took him to a vet.

So far so good-

OK He got his shots was all checked out had an infection on his leg that they took care of. And then neutered him.

Great - He was to be released on June 6th. We didn't have quite enough money yet so it was phone calls to see what we could do.

Then the nightmare started.

The rescuer who pulled him got very sick and ended up in the hospital & the head of our fund person was called out of town for a family emergency.

Now I am nervous. I started to email all the transports I knew.

We got 2. But we had a road block- no one could get to the little town where the vet was. Too far away from all the transports. So he missed them. I called the vet ( this man is a special angel) he said don't worry about the money- I know you will come thru - just come get him.

I cannot even start to tell you all the emails & begging & pleading that was done. This little guy has more guardian angels in his corner than you could imagine.

Everything we tried wouldn't get him out of that one little town.

We had a ride for him from NC straight to PA & 2 days to get it done.

I didn't sleep for days - couldn't eat much & was just a mess. He's not coming - He's stuck - He's never gonna get out. I cried so much. Its not fair to him.

I begged the good Lord - Please not for me - for him - he is your little creature I screamed.

I didn't know where else to turn.

Now there were alot of other people out there trying just as hard as I was. Like I said he had a lot of angels out there trying.

Then we got an email- a pilot came through and said he would fly in & take him to his ride. But we still had to get him to the airport.

We could not get him out of that town.

In the meantime his Fairy-God Dog Mother paid his bill to make sure it would not be another problem for him.

The last day - the day of the flight- they got him a ride to the airport. I didn't know how but since found out the pilot had a friend who did it.

Talk about an answer to prayers!!!

I got mine.

He made it out with out any problems and got to Asheville to met his other guardian angels.

When I got that phone call that he made it I think 60 years was taken off my life. I cried. And I prayed & I sent thank you's.

I could never begin to list all the people involved here. But they know who they are.

Scruffy will always love every one of you & I have all the emails to put in his scrapbook.

I have always wanted a Scruffy & now I have one.

The pilot thinks I should call him Yeager - so I will call him Scruffy Yeager. He will learn both names.

I don't have him home yet but will have him tomorrow.
