Look what Santa Left!!!!!

Well two days before Christmas little Cody showed up at my house.

He is a precious little 4 year ol Lassa Apso. When I first saw him coming in the door I looked around twice. I thought Benji had gotten on the sunporch somehow. He looks just like him only smaller. It was so funny.

Seems that this little baby was bought at a pet store 4 years ago and he is truely loved by his family. His mommie is heartboken over this but it had to be. He was just fine for years & even though they had a little boy come into their life- Cody was fine. Then several months ago they had a little girl. Before she was born- Cody started getting aggressive wth the little 2 year old. Then it got worse. After the baby he was agressive not only to the kids but also started with the parents.

This was not his fault as I double checked on the pet store & he is definately from a puppymill. Of course they had no idea of this when they got him. He was vet checked & all, but interbreding can cause this.

My Benji is the same way. I have to be very careful when someone is here. I usually don't allow anyone to pet him. With him it's fear but in time I will get to know Cody better & will know what sets him off.

This is the main reason we beg people not to buy from pet stores. There is no way to tell what you may encounter down the road. Luckily Cody did not have any serious health problems. His one little tear duct poops out but otherwise he is fine. But because of his agression they had no choice but to PTS or find a new home. They wanted so bad to give him a chance as like I said they really do love him. But they also love their human babies too. So they ask if I could find him a great home & I said sure- probably mine. My heart aches for his mommie as I know it is really hurting her especially at this time of year.

In the meantime- let me tell you about this little twirp!!

I now have two chairs at my computer. One for me & one for Cody. They are side by side so he can lay here with me as I type.

He loves to go out with everyone in the back yard & play. His only problem is - he wants to play with the big dogs. But its cute as they are very gentle with him. My biggest problem is Derrick- (my over entergetic one) he decided to teach him all the bad traits. Like Barking, & lets go out every 5 minutes.

He is so sweet. and I can pick him up tolove him. Have to look twice to make sure it's not Benji as he bites when you pick him up. He sleeps on the pillow beside me. and so far everyone has taken a liking to him.

He had a rough couple days as I know he wanted to go home- kept running to the front door. But now he seems happy & content. He likes having company here to play with. We play ball- which he loves.

And of course like Abby - he is spoiled - she don't like treats & gets vienna sausage - well so does he.

Today I made them Ham & Sweet potatoes for Christmas dinner. They liked that. Hope they don't expect that too often.

So for now we are doing good- and I stay busy with my brood.

Benji & Cody

One dog is no trouble and two are so funny
The third one is easy, the fourth one's a honey
The fifth is delightful, the sixth one's a breeze
You find you can live with a housefly with ease.

So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy, but oh Lord, the hair!
With dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed
And crates in the kitchen, it's no bother you said
They're really no trouble, their manners are great
What's just one more dog and one more little crate?

The sofa is hairy, the windows are crusty
The floor is all footprints, the furniture dusty
The housekeeping suffers but what do you care?
Who minds a few nose prints and a little more hair?

So let's keep a puppy, you can always find room
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom
There's hardly a limit to the dogs you can add
The thought of a cutback sure makes you feel sad
Each one is special, so useful, so funny
The food bill grows larger, you owe the vet money
Your folks never visit, few friends come to stay
Except other dog folks who live the same way.

Is it worth it you wonder? Are you caught in a trap?
Then that favorite comes up and climbs in you lap
Her look says you're special and you know that you will
Keep all the critters in spite of the bill.
The whole thing seems worth it, the dogs are your life
They're charming and funny and offset the strife.
