How Mommie Got Me.

Mommie had been looking for a playmate for her other furbabie Abby for a couple months. She didn't just want any dog she wanted to save one somehow. So she started to search the shelters - you know the ones where each doggie only has so long!!!! Well she applied on several but she was either too late & they went to the bridge or someone beat her to them. ( the latter was OK cause at least they got a home)

Then Last Sunday (after Christmas- she was trying to adopt a little cutie) but it had been adopted.

Then her friends in NJ emailed her & said we just pulled one & are taking to a kennel - it's yours. Now mind you- she didn't even know what I looked like. I was worried cause what if she didn't like me?? Little did I know this lady loves all of them so it didn't matter if it wasn't one she picked. She was tickled pink. She could hardly wait.

Well they took me to the kennel & doggie tested me. I passed! But of course I knew if I wanted to see Christmas next year I better. Then they tried to learn more about me. Now that was tough!! First I was left behind outside because my owner died & so since I had tags they checked them. Turns out I had two names. And the people moved & left me. Nice people -Huh? Mommie says she better never see them. Anyways since I had fleas they had to get rid of them as mommie is allergic to fleas. So then I got a bathe. And looking suburb!!

Meantime They found a really nice lady who said she would come get me & take me from NJ to PA for my mommie . All set and we are ready to go!! Yippee- I have a home.

I met alot of peole who fell in love with me & I really liked them too. They were really great to take such an interest in a little flea biten mutt like me.

So on to PA. We met mommie where she works & I even had a fan club who came out to say "Hello" Imagine that. I thought I was somebody. Anyways Mommie took me home with her & I got to meet Abby. I ignored her at first but she sure was curious about me. (we had a fence between us). Finally when mom knew it was safe she took me in the yard. Abby followed me everywhere & I just wanted to check out my new yard. Then we went in side. Everything went pretty good but Abby wasn't real sure of me & I think she thought I was a replacement cause she really was hanging on our mom & so was I. Hey this person liked to love me & I was eatin that all up. Then I made a mistake I got into Abbys face & she let me know she didn't like it. She didn't hurt me just snapped but it didn't take me long to get back. Mommie scolded her & told her not to do it. The rest of the night we both were like Penny dogs- followed her 2 inches behind. Good thing she didn't stop quick!! Then she gave me a new coller & some toys & feed us. The rest of the evening went pretty good. It was bedtime. Since Abby sleeps towards the bottom of the bed- oh that left me with a great opportunity. I just curled up in mommies arms & we sleep that way all night. She really seemed to like it. Tell you the truth I was quite happy too.

Today Abby is better - (my warden has been going off & doing her usual thing -sleeping) so I have just been following mommie around & playing. We played with a little ball she got. I like to chase it & throw it in the air. But we had a pretty good day. Abby still isn't real real friendly but mom looked over at us awhile ago & we were laying side by side sleeping. So I think one of these days Abby and I will become buddies. I just have to give her time & space.
